Leadership Team – product management
1. Analyze your company’s challenges – when you are in a leadership role, it is important to analyze the company’s current position and identify the most relevant problems that need to be solved. It is also critical to know what key performance indicators (KPI) are being used so you can focus on the most important metrics.
2. Identify areas of success – once you have analyzed the company’s challenges, it is time to identify what has been working well and why. It is often easier to identify what hasn’t been working so well, but it can be even more valuable to discover why some things are successful and others aren’t. This insight will help you create a vision for where the company should head next.
3. Be clear with your vision – once you have identified key successes and challenges, it is time to communicate your vision for how you see the company moving forward in order to achieve its goals. It is critical that you can clearly articulate this vision as everyone will follow along based on their perception of what needs to happen next in order meet these goals or beat current performance levels.
4. Make sure to communicate your vision – the final step is to ensure that everyone will be able to understand what you are trying to accomplish and why it is important for the company moving forward. The ability of people to understand your vision and act accordingly will determine whether or not you can implement your vision successfully and achieve your goals.
Vision in Digital World: Creating a Mission Statement
Creating a vision and mission statement is a great way to capture what you want your company and team to accomplish. Having a clear mission statement will help the organization know what they are aiming for, while also guiding their decision-making process. I like to think of it as having an anchor that can keep everyone on track.
The point of creating a mission statement is to identify where the company wants to go, rather than looking at things in terms of how they have been done in the past or how they are being done currently. The key here is that you need an external focus instead of an internal focus; this requires thinking about who will benefit from your mission and why it is important for them.
